I finally made it to Gore last night {sat 13th Aug} after the main suitcase initially didn't make the transfer at Sydney, but did get to Christchurch on a later Emirates flight!
Good job there was a 6 hour wait there for the domestic flight to Invercargill at 6pm.
By the time I picked up the car rental and drove to Gore in the dark with an ancient Garmin in a rather 'old' Nissan, I was on the verge of hallucinating through tiredness, but sleep was at hand :-)
