Visiting old friends Celia & Ian in Tuakau - North Island

First - a cuppa coffee in Cornwall Park
(just in case I was feeling homesick)
Auckland before heading south past Manukau and Papakura on State Highway 1

And if there's any doubt about what's for dinner ... ... ...
More Wild Turkeys than you can shake a stick at!!!

Just get the popgun out and 'bag' one for dins :-)

Decking anyone?

The beach beyond Port Waikato on the West coast.

The surfers are out there ... ... ...

This is Maori meeting house

The most frequently used venue for any Māori cultural event is a Marae, an enclosed area of land where a meeting house or Wharenui (literally "big house") stands.
Some initial views of the countryside near the west coast in this region ... ... ...

Anyone for sheep?

Celia and Ian

Now this is a Cornish Rex called ... ... wait for it ... ...

... ... can you guess? ... ... ...

... ... that's right ... ... D O B B Y  ! ! !

The house was finished last year and they moved in around November 2010
Beyond that river and behind the lump is a Drag Strip and a relatively newly opened V8 race track ... ... ...
Light coloured low-level buildings in the distance? A new prison - nnnice!

Looks like the Petrol-Heads are out in force on this sunday afternoon.
